Hey I’m Bob with About.com and today we’re gonna talk about how best to maintain and store your Xbox controllers.
Cleaning Xbox Controllers
First, let’s talk about maintenance. To keep your controllers working, it’s best not to drop or throw them. It’s good to keep them clean by washing your hands before playing and wiping the controllers down with disinfecting wipes every once and a while. Using any thin, flat tool, you can also clean the seams around the device.
Storing Xbox Controllers
When storing, place controllers somewhere out of the way to prevent them from being knocked around accidentally. Also, make sure there isn’t any pressure on either the buttons or the joystick as this can cause damage.
If your controller is going to be stored for a prolonged period of time, greater than a month, remove the batteries to prevent damage.
