Hi, my name is Ashley Hammond. I'm the owner of the Soccer Domain Football Club in Montclair, NJ. I'm here for About.com to talk about how to do a defensive header in the game of a soccer.
Head Ball at Maximum Height for Maximum Power
Players making defensive headers are usually trying to get the ball as far way from their goal as possible. This requires that they get maximum power, maximum distance, and maximum height on the head. In order to do this, the player should jump as high as they can and meet the ball at the maximum height they can. This gives them a clear advantage over other players on the field and offers them the ability to put the ball as far down the field and as far away from the attackers as possible.
