Hi, I'm Aubrey for About.com. Today, Im going to show you how to make White Lightning sangria using a recipe from Wine.About.com.

Ingredients for White Lightning Sangria With Vodka

Before you get started, you will need:

  • 1 bottle of white wine
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1/2 cup white grape juice
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup seedless grapes
  • 1 green apple
  • 1/2 cup sliced pineapple
  • 2 cups club soda or ginger ale

Tips for Cutting Fruit for White Lightning Sangria With Vodka

You can cut the fruit however you like for this recipe. I recommend cutting the grapes in half so they absorb the liquid. You can cut the pineapple into chunks so they fit more easily into the sangria glasses or you can cut them into rings so they are more decorative. Cut the green apple into thin slices. As a variation, you can add orange or tangerine slices to the mixture.

Make the White Lightning Sangria With Vodka

Pour the wine into a sangria pitcher. Add the vodka. Now add the fruit. Now add the grapes, add the orange or tangerine slices, add the pineapple, ad the green apple. Pour in the sugar. Give the mixture a stir. You want to chill this mixture for at least an hour, for best results refrigerate over night to marry the citrus flavors with the wine.

Tips for Serving the White Lightning Sangria With Vodka

Serve the beverage over ice in sangria glasses, table wine glasses, or you can be creative. I am using mason jars to give the presentation a summery fruit preserve flair. Top with club soda or ginger ale. Garnish with fresh fruit. As another variation, try adding strawberries or black berries.
