Transcript:What Is a Super PAC?

Hi I'm Kwanza Hall Atlanta City Councilman for District 2, District 2 is the heart of Atlanta, Georgia. And I'm here to talk about what is a super PAC.

What is a Super PAC?

A super PAC is a political action committee that is allowed to raise and spend unlimited amounts of money from corporations, unions, individuals and associations. So, for citizens on a daily basis when you see advertisements and you hear the paid for by line at the end of the advertisement typically on many occasions going forward those will have been paid for by super PACS.

What Does a Super PAC Do?

Super PACS campaign for or against federal candidates through the use of radio, television, print and digital media to sway voters to one side or the other. In the upcoming presidential election this November there will be millions of dollars from super PACs to attempt to sway American voters to the left or to the right of certain candidates and in effect to try and win the election for the chosen party or candidate.
