Toni Collette – 'Tara' in United States of Tara

Congratulations. Are you surprised at all on the success of the show? People just love it.

Toni Collette: "I'm glad people love it, I love it too. And yeah, I hope this whole kind of shebang helps widen our audience because I want to do it for a long time. It's a very satisfying gig."

Is it really? Do you love those scripts?

Toni Collette: "It's great, great writing. It has originality, depth, complexity and a lot of humor. I think it's very real and very relative."

Is it interesting to be able to go and take on this character every week when you're so used to doing films where you have to leave the character behind?

Toni Collette: "It was interesting starting the second season because I've rarely ever been involved in reshoots so coming back and kind of being plopped back in the middle of the story was strange. I felt like I was walking with three legs. But you get in the swim pretty quickly, yeah."
