Hey, I'm Brice Sander for About.com, and today we're profiling one of NBC's must-see comedies, 30 Rock.
Liz Lemon and "TGS"
The brainchild of Tina Fey, the series follows the behind-the-scenes antics of the cast and crew of a late-night sketch show, "The Girly Show," or "TGS." Fey stars as Liz Lemon, the head writer of the sketch series. She's surrounded by a kooky cast of writers and actors, including over-the-top personalities Tracy Jordan and Jenna Maroney.
Jack and Liz
Alec Baldwin stars as Liz's boss, Jack Donaghy. He's a network exec who often butts heads with Lemon. But, over time, the two realize they make a good team, and become unlikely friends.
Critic's Darling
The series premiered in 2006 and, while never a major ratings hit, has been critically acclaimed from the start. Over its seven season run, 30 Rock has been nominated for almost every major award, including a whopping 57 Emmy nods. The series has won many of those trophies, including acting accolades for Fey and Baldwin.
Great Guest Stars
A hallmark of the series would be its guest stars. Every season, Fey recruits famous faces to join her cast. Stars like Jennifer Aniston, Julianne Moore, Salma Hayek and Jim Carrey have all stopped by.
