Transcript:Clean an LCD TV ScreenHi, I'm Debbie Anderson for About.com. Having a large LCD Television Screen in the living room is a wonderful way to enhance your movie viewing experience, however, unless you keep the screen properly cleaned, that beautiful image on your screen can look diminished over time. So, today I'm going to show you how to safely clean your large LCD television screen in just a few easy steps.
What You Need to Clean an LCD TV ScreenFor this task, you will need a small spray bottle, a measuring cup, Isopropyl rubbing alcohol, cotton swabs, and soft micro-fiber cloths.
Mix the Cleaning SolutionFirst, pour a half cup of Isopropyl rubbing alcohol and a half cup of water into the spray bottle. Next, put the nozzle back on top of the spray bottle and twist the nozzle until it is tight. Then briskly shake the alcohol and water solution inside the spray bottle until the solution is thoroughly mixed together.
Turn Off the TVNext, turn off the power to the television and allow the screen to cool for approximately 10 minutes.
Wipe Screen with ClothOnce the screen on the LCD television is cool to the touch, use a soft micro-fiber cloth to gently wipe away any dust build up on the broader surfaces of the LCD television screen.
Spray with CleanserNext, spray a thin film of the cleaning solution on the soft lint free cloth and gently wipe away any smudges that are on the television screen until there are no more smudge marks.
Don't Forget the DetailsFor the sharp corners and edges around the screen, dip a cotton swab in a small amount of the alcohol and water solution you just created to dampen the cotton and then carefully clean the corners and edges of the screen with the cotton swab until all of the dust and dirt build up is removed.
Dry the LCD TV ScreenThen, gently go over the corners and edges of the screen again with a clean dry cotton swab to absorb any left over moisture that is still lingering around the edges and corners of the television screen.
Finally, use a soft clean dry micro-fiber cloth to gently wipe down the speakers and control buttons on the LCD television.
Now remember to dust and clean your large LCD television screen on a regular basis and you'll always have a brilliant picture to watch. Thank you for watching. To learn more, please visit us on the web at About.com.
