Transcript:Holiday Attractions at Disneyland

Hi, I'm Arthur Levine, the Theme Parks Guide at Disneyland is wonderful year round, but Christmas and the holidays may just be the most wonderful time of year. Let's take a look at the ways Disneyland gets decked out and celebrates the joyous season.

A Winter Castle Is a Holiday Attraction at Disneyland

You can find bazillions of twinkling lights and decorations throughout the park, including a towering Christmas Tree in Town Square. At the other end of Main Street U.S.A., snow and icicles transform Disneyland's iconic structure into Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle. Snow? In Southern California? Believe it. Each evening during the holiday season, the castle becomes the backdrop for Believe in Holiday Magic, a fireworks extravaganza followed by an honest-to-goodness mini snow shower.

Holiday Ride Makeovers at Disneyland

Another building that gets a holiday makeover is it's a small world. In addition to the lights and decorations on the outside, the ride itself morphs into it's a small world holiday. The dolls forego their usual song and instead perform holiday tunes amid festive scenes from the countries they represent. The Haunted Mansion gets a holiday makeover as well, but it celebrates both Halloween and Christmas by introducing Jack Skellington from "A Nightmare Before Christmas" into the ghostly mix.

A Christmas Parade Is Part of Holiday Attractions at Disneyland

One of the highlights of Disneyland's holiday festivities is its Christmas parade. The characters, floats, and performers all get into the spirit of the season. The procession is capped by the appearance of, you guessed it, Santa Claus. For a more personal encounter with Santa as well as Mrs. Claus, guests can head to the Jingle Jangle Jamboree in Frontierland. Disney characters dressed in their holiday finest are also available at the meet and greet. And there are seasonal tunes performed as well as special games and crafts-making offered.

It's a great way to celebrate the season. Visit to read more about the holidays at Disneyland.
