Hey, what's going on? Matt Victor, tattooist, here at Tribal Rites Tattoo and Piercing in Westminster, Colorado. Today, for About,com we are going to be discussing memorial or tribute tattoos.
Plan Your Tribute Tattoo Beforehand
This is a particular type of tattoo that you want to take very seriously. You should consult with your tattooist; talk about whether you want to do symbolism, names, or possibly a portrait. And it's good to have that consult first, then gather whatever reference your artist and you discussed, and then have your artist put together the proper tattoo. And come up with exactly the right piece for the placement of the tattoo, as well as the intricacies of the design of the tattoo.
Types of Tribute Tattoos
Now often, portraits are the subject of a tribute or memorial tattoo. Nowadays, portrait can be the most important tattoo to get done by a quality tattooist. You really need to nail down that imagery is so important for the person getting the tattoo, that you immortalize, be it a person, be it a family member, a friend, a lost soul, or a pet. I know from getting my own pet tattoo, to really nail it, and really take some persona in that tattoo.
