Transcript:How to Make Sugar-Free Ice Cream

Hello my name is Gina Ganon with About.com, and today we're making some sugar free ice cream.

Before you start cooking you need to go to your local grocery store to get the following items:

Sugar-Free Ice Cream Ingredients

  • 13 ounces of evaporated milk
  • 2 tablespoons of a sugar replacement such as Equal
  • 1 1/2 cups of whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs well beaten

How to Make Sugar-Free Ice Cream

Step 1: Chill Mixing Bowl in Freezer

Once you have all of your ingredients ready to go find a durable bowl and a mixing spoon. It's a good idea to chill your bowl in the freezer for 20 minutes before starting to ensure quality results.

Step 2: Mix in Sugar Replacement

Now take your bowl and pour 13 ounces of evaporated milk. Next add 2 tablespoons of sugar replacement and start mixing.

Step 3: Add Vanilla Extract and Whole Milk

Next add 1 1/2 cups of whole milk and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract.

Step 4: Add Eggs

Time to add the last ingredient, the eggs. I would recommend beating the eggs first then adding them to your mixture. After pouring in the beaten eggs, you guessed it start mixing again. Mix until everything is well dissolved, then take your mixture and put it in the freezer.

Step 5: Place in Freezer for 2-3 Hours

The ice cream will need approximately 2-3 hours in the freezer before it's done. However you're not done yet, every 30 minutes you need to pull the ice cream out and vigorously mix everything to prevent it from freezing.

Last but not least enjoy a cone of your hard labor. Thanks for watching and to learn more visit us at About.com.
