Transcript:Export Data From an Excel Sheet to a Word Document

Hi I'm Don Schechter for About.com Computing. Today, I'll show you how to export data in Microsoft Excel to a Word document.

Copy Excel Cells to a Word Document

  • OPEN Excel and Word
  • SELECT the range of the table you want in Excel
  • CLICK Edit / Copy
  • CLICK Edit / Paste in Word*
*The sizes of the cells are different, but you can play with the size of the table.

Export Excel Data to Word

  • CLICK File / Save As for Excel document
  • CLICK 'CSV (comma delimited)' or 'Text (tab delimited)' option for its file type
  • RENAME File, now it is a .csv file
  • CLICK File / Open in Word and open the .csv file you just made
  • CLICK Table / Convert / Text to Table
  • SELECT at bottom to separate text by commas
  • CLICK OK
