Hi I'm author, speaker and trainer JJ Flizanes of JJFlizanes.com. I'm here to speak to you today on behalf of About.com about active stretching for your glutes.
Hip Flexion Is Active Stretching for Glutes
When contracted, your glutes cause hip extension. So in order to actively stretch them, we need to do hip flexion. And the best place to start is on your back. We're going to start by lying on your back with one knee bent and one leg straightened. You want to keep your knee locked and lift your leg with your quadricep and your hip flexor.
Tips for Active Stretching for Glutes
Concentrate on contracting your quadricep and your hip flexor as much as you can in order to release your glutes. Thanks for watching. For more information, please visit us online at About.com.
