Transcript:Quick Tips: How to Make Pot Roast GravyHi, I am Stephanie Gallagher for About.com, and today, I will show you how to make an easy pot roast gravy that can be made with any type of pot roast, whether braised on the stovetop, in the oven, or even in the slow cooker.
Making Pot Roast GravyTo make the gravy, start by mixing 2 tablespoons of flour with about 1/4 cup of water. Just mix until the flour is dissolved, and there are no lumps. Now remove the pot roast meat and any vegetables from the dutch oven or pot it was cooking in.And skim off the fat from the liquid in the pot. Now set the heat to medium-low, and add the flour and water mixture to the liquid in the pot, whisking constantly until it thickens. This is the consistency you are looking for.
After the Pot Roast Gravy CooksWhen the gravy is thick, add the vegetables back to the pot.Serve the vegetables and gravy over the pot roast.
