Transcript:How to Make Sausage-Stuffed Mushrooms
Hi, I'm Gina Miller with About.com. Today I am preparing sausage stuffed mushrooms. This is a great appetizer to serve with drinks before a meal or simply as a side dish with your meal.Ingredients Needed for Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms:
12 large fresh mushrooms cleaned (approximately 3/4 lbs.)1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 pound of sweet Italian sausage, ground
1/2 cup of dry bread crumbs
1/3 cup fresh chopped parsley
Prepare the Sausage Stuffing
Clean mushrooms with a damp towel, and remove mushrooms stems to use later in the stuffing mixture. Cook and break up sausage, until browned. Drain off excess grease, and then add parsley, Parmesan cheese and mushroom stems, set mixture aside. Grease a shallow baking dish and arrange the mushrooms caps.Stuff Mushrooms and Bake for Twenty Minutes
When stuffing is cooled slightly, stuff the mushroom caps with the sausage mixture. Bake in a 400-degree oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkling with additional breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese. Serve hot or cold. This recipe serves 4-6 people.Thank you for watching and for more info, visit us on the web at About.com
