Transcript:How to Make Quiche Lorraine
Hey guys, Greyson Ferguson here with About.com. Today we are going to make quiche Lorraine. To Make Quiche Lorraine, You'll Need:
- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 12 slices of bacon
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 small, chopped onion
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups of light cream
- salt
- white pepper
- cayenne pepper
Add Bacon, Onions and Cheese to the Quiche Crust
Fry the bacon until crisps, then chop. If you want to lighten the calorie count of your quiche, feel free to substitute the pork bacon with turkey bacon. Add the bacon, onions and cheese to the pre-made pie crust. These crusts are available in the baking section of your local supermarket. Look for an un-sweetened crust, although a sweet crust adds an interesting flavor layer to the eggs, bacon and cheese, similar to adding a little maple syrup to your morning breakfast.Beat the Eggs with the Cream and Bake the Quiche
Beat the eggs with the light cream, salt and peppers, then pour into the pie crust. Slide the crust into a 425 degree oven for 15 minutes, then reduce the heat to 300 and cook for another 30 minutes. Once the cook time is up, remove the quiche from the oven and cut just as you would a pie, then serve out the slices of the quiche and enjoy.Well, that's it.
