Transcript:How to Make Hearty Chicken Chili With White Beans
Hey guys, Greyson Ferguson here with About.com. Today we are going to make a hearty chicken with white bean chili. To Make Hearty Chicken Chili, You'll Need:
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 4 chicken breasts cubed
- 4 teaspoons of chili powder
- 2 teaspoons of ground cumin
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 diced green pepper
- 1 can of cream of chicken soup
- 3/4 cup of water
- 1 can of corn
- 2 cans of white beans
- 2 tablespoons of cheddar cheese
Allow the Chili Ingredients to Simmer Together in a Dutch Oven
In a large pan or Dutch oven, add in the olive oil, chicken, onion, green pepper and the spices. If you enjoy a little heat in your food feel free to add in an extra teaspoon or two of chili powder. You are also going to find chili powder imported from India and other parts of Asia are spicier than chili powder from the states. Add in the rest of the ingredients and bring the pot of soup to a boil. There is no need to drain your canned veggies as the water stored in the can adds to the broth of the chili. You can add any other vegetables to the chili, such as peas, carrots and other beans. It's completely up to you and your taste buds. It helps to keep all the ingredients similar to the same size though, as it keeps the cooking time for all the material consistent. Reduce the chili to a simmer once it begins to boil, then serve and enjoy. Thanks for watching. To learn more visit About.com
