Transcript:How to Make Fried ApplesHi, I'm Aubrey with About.com. Today we are making fried apples using a recipe from SouthernFood.About.Com.
Ingredients Needed to Make Fried Apples:8 medium Granny Smith apples, chopped
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
Cut and Peel Apples Before FryingTo begin, quarter and core your apples. Use a sharp knife to cut the apple in half, take the half and cut along each side of the core. Then cut along the bottom of the core. With a pairing knife peel off the skin and cut into thin slices.
Sauté Apples in Butter and Spices Until TenderPre-heat a heavy skillet on medium low. Add the butter and allow it to melt completely. Now, Add the apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sauté 15 to 20 minutes. When the apples are tender, they are ready to serve. Feel free to sprinkle with a little additional sugar to taste.
