Transcript:How to Make Crock Pot Dressing
Hi, I'm Scott for About.com. Today, I'm going to show you how to make slow cooker dressing using a recipe from SouthernFood.About.com.
Crock Pot Dressing Ingredients
Before you get started, you'll need a few ingredients:
- 8-inch loaf cornbread, cubed
- 8 slices day old bread, toasted and cubed
- 4 eggs
- 1 med. onion, minced
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1 to 2 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 2 cans cream of chicken soup
- 2 tbsp. butter or margarine
Cooking the Crock Pot Dressing
To get started, grease your slow cooker. Set it aside. In a large mixing bowl, add the dressing ingredients. Add the toasted, cubed bread. Crumble in the cornbread. Add the eggs. Pour in the chicken soup. Add the onion. Pour in the celery. Sprinkle in the poultry seasoning. Add the black pepper. Stir the ingredients together, mixing thoroughly. Transfer the mixture to the slow cooker. Now, dot the dressing with butter. Turn the slow cooker on LOW and cook for 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours. If you prefer a faster cook time, turn the slow cooker on HIGH and cook for 2 hours.
