Hey guys, Greyson Ferguson here with About.com. Today we are going to make a crab salad.Ingredients for Crab Salad
To start, you'll need:- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 1 chopped onion
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 12 ounces of crabmeat
- 1 cup of mayonnaise
Make the Crab Salad
Add the butter into a pan set on medium heat, then toss in the onion and green pepper and cook until tender. You can use any other assortment of vegetables with this recipe, including celery, cucumber or tomatoes.Combine the crabmeat into the pan and cook for three to five minutes longer. If you or a friend is allergic to crab, there is imitation crabmeat that tastes similar to the real thing, although the texture is far smoother.
Remove the mixture from heat and combine with the mayonnaise. You now have the option to serve the crab salad warm or cold. When served cold, the crab salad makes an excellent dip for chips, in addition to acting as a salad. Toss the warmed crab salad with pasta, lettuce, or place on top of your favorite burger or sandwich. Feel free to salt and pepper to taste after serving.
