- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Instructions for Baked French ToastButter a 9 x 13 baking dish. Cut the bread into slices, about 1-inch thick. Arrange the bread slices in the baking dish - you can tear them to fit if necessary. Make a second layer on top of the first.Crack the eggs into a large mixing bowl. Add the milk, brown sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Whisk it until well blended, and pour the custard over the bread slices, making sure to coat them evenly.Press down on the bread to help it soak up the custard. Cover with foil or plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight. When you're ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Make the topping.
