Transcript:How to Make Bacon-Wrapped Pork Tenderloin

Hi, I'm Gary Chisholm with About.com, and today we're making bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, using a recipe from About.com's Southern Food site.

To Make Bacon-Wrapped Pork Tenderloin, You'll Need:

  • 1 pork tenderloin, cleaned and trimmed
  • 3 slices of bacon
  • 1 tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Lawry's Seasoned Salt
  • 1 tsp. dried crumbled basil
  • 1/2 tsp. dried crumbled oregano
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • Olive oil

Rub Spices On the Pork Tenderloin Before Wrapping in Bacon

Mix the garlic powder, seasoned salt, basil, oregano, and black pepper together and rub the seasoning mix all over the pork tenderloin.  Wrap the pork with bacon and secure it with toothpicks. Coat the tenderloin with olive oil.

Allow Pork Tenderloin to Rest Before Slicing and Serving

Place the pork in a 9x13 pan and bake uncovered at 375° - 400° for 45-60 minutes, or until the pork's internal temperature reaches 155°. Take it out and check that the bacon is really done. Remove and wrap in foil. Let it stand for 10 minutes before slicing.This recipe serves 2-4 people and is great accompanied by seasoned rice and sauteed veggies.
