Hey guys, Greyson Ferguson here with About.com. Today we are going to make artichoke tarts.

Ingredients for the Artichoke Appetizer Tarts

To start, you need:
  • wonton wrappers
  • 1/4 cup of shredded cheese
  • 4 ounces of cream cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons of sweet red peppers
  • 7-ounce can of artichoke hearts drained

Make the Filling for the Artichoke Appetizer Tarts

Spray a muffin baking sheet with cooking oil. Set out wanton wrapper into each of the muffin cups. Wonton wrappers are small, dough wrappers you can find in the grocery store. Typically they are locate near the vegan and tofu material in the food section, however you may also find the wrappers in the ethnic food aisle at the supermarket. Spray the tops of the wrappers with the cooking spray.

Mix in all the ingredients into a bowl. Make sure to thoroughly mix the material to ensure the cream cheese mixes with the rest of the ingredients. This is easiest done if the cream cheese is soft.

Fill and Bake the Artichoke Appetizer Tarts

Scoop in a spoonful of the mixture into each of the muffin cups. Don't worry if some of the cups have more artichoke or peppers than the others. If you want, you can also use spinach to make a spinach-cheese artichoke dip style tart. You can also substitute in your favorite soft cheese into the recipe if you choose.

Slide the baking sheet into a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Remove and allow the tarts to cool for a few minutes, then serve warm. The cups are going to slide right out of the baking sheet thanks to the cooking spray.
