Transcript:Honey Roasted AlmondsHi, I am Natasha Levitan for About.com Food. Today I'm going to show you how to make honey roasted almonds
Honey Roasted Almonds IngredientsFor this recipe, you'll need:
- 1 cup honey
- 2 teaspoons Chinese five spice powder
- 3 cups whole almonds with skin
Prepare the Honey MixturePreheat the oven to 300 degrees. Line the baking pan with parchment paper; it will keep your almonds from sticking to the pan.
In a medium sauce pan, pour in 1 cup of honey. Put the heat on medium so the honey warms evenly. Stir the honey until it becomes thin and easy to pour.
Add two teaspoons of Chinese five spice powder and almonds, and stir until the almonds are fully coated
Bake the AlmondsUse a slotted spoon to transfer almonds to the baking pan in single layer. Place the baking sheet in the oven. Twenty minutes into baking, rotate your pan.
When the nut mixture has darkened in color, about 45-55 minutes into baking, take the baking pan out.
Serve the Honey Roasted AlmondsSpread the almonds in a single layer on a parchment paper and set aside to cool. The almonds will keep in an airtight container for two weeks. You can serve them to your guests as an appetizer or a snack.
