Transcript:Hash Brown Potato BakeHi, my name is Krystyna Rittichier and I'm here for About.com. Today we're making Hash Brown Potato Bake, using a recipe from About.com's Southern Food site.
Ingredients for Hash Brown Potato Bake
For this recipe you will need:
- 3 Cups Frozen Shredded Potatoes
- 1/3 Cup Butter, Melted
- 1 Cup Fully Cooked Diced Ham
- 1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- ¼ Cup Finely Chopped Green Pepper, with the seeds removed
- 2 Large Eggs, Beaten
- ½ Cup Milk
- ½ tsp Salt
- ¼ tsp Pepper
Prepare and Cook the Potatoes
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Thaw the potatoes out, and remove excess moisture by blotting with paper towels. Press the shredded potatoes on the bottom and sides of an ungreased 9 inch dish. Pour the butter evenly over the shredded potatoes. Cook the potatoes in the oven for 25 minutes. Allow the dish to cool for 10 minutes.
Combine Ingredients and Bake
In a medium bowl, combine the ham, cheese and bell pepper. Place the mixture on the hash browns. In a medium bowl, mix the egg, milk, salt and pepper. Pour this over the ham mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Allow the dish to stand 10 minutes before serving.
