Hi, I'm Scott from About.com. Today, we are going to make Crock Pot spaghetti and meatballs.To get started you'll need a few ingredients:
For the Spaghetti Sauce, You Will Need:
- 4 cloves of minced garlic
- 1 green pepper, finely chopped
- 4 tbsp of olive oil
- 1 large can diced tomatoes
- 1 large can crushed tomatoes
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 1 cup of dry red wine
- 1 tbsp of dried oregano
- 1/2 tbsp of dried basil
- 1 tbsp sugar
- add salt to taste
For the Meatballs, You'll Need:
- 1 pound lean of ground beef
- 3 minced garlic cloves
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp dried leaf basil
- 1/2 cup of Romano cheese
- 1 tbsp dried parsley
- 1 egg
Prepare the Spaghetti Sauce in the Crock Pot
To begin, Lightly saute the garlic and green peppers in 4 tablespoons of olive oil. Transfer to this Crock Pot. Now add the diced tomatoes, pour in the crushed tomatoes, add the tomato paste, measure out and add the red wine, add the oregano, the basil, the sugar, add the salt to taste. Give it a stir.Saute the Meatballs then Add to the Spaghetti Sauce
Now, in a separate bowl add the ground beef, add the spices, add the cheese, and add the egg. Mix the meatball ingredients thoroughly and form into meatballs. Sauté them in 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add them to the sauce along with the drippings. Stir well and cover. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Serve over pasta.Thanks for watching.
