Transcript:Crockpot Honey Mustard Pork TenderloinHi, I'm Kaytie Sproul here for About.com, and today I'm going to show you how to make a honey mustard pork tenderloin in a crockpot, using a recipe from About.com's Southern Cooking site.
If you enjoy pork, then you know there's no better cut than the tenderloin, and with just 10 minutes of prep time, you really can't go wrong with this recipe. So let's get started.
Ingredients for the Crockpot Honey Mustard Pork TenderloinFor this dish, you will need the following ingredients:
- 2 pork tenderloins, about one pound each
- 1 small clove of garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons of grainy Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried leaf thyme, crumbled
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon of cold water
Prepare the Crockpot Honey Mustard Pork TenderloinBegin by taking your pork tenderloins and washing them under cold water. This will help you eliminate any of the packing juices that might still be on the meat. Pat the meat dry and take a look at it. If there is an excessive amount of fat on the roast, now is the time to trim it. Once done, place the meat in the crockpot.
Now you'll need to make the sauce. Mix together the garlic, mustard, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, and thyme in a bowl. Once all are well-mixed, pour over the pork loin in the crockpot. Be sure to coat the meat well and lift the roast to expose the underside to the sauce as well.
Cover the pot and set the timer. Ideally, you'll want to cook the tenderloin slowly under a low heat. Seven or eight hours on the low setting is perfect. However, if you are pressed for time, set the crockpot to a high heat at four hours.
Make a Sauce and Serve the Crockpot Honey Mustard Pork TenderloinAfter the cooking is complete, remove the pork loins from the crockpot and place them in a covered dish or bowl. Then take the remaining juices and pour them into a sauce pan. This will make a fantastic gravy for the meat.
Simmer the sauce for around eight to ten minutes. In a cup, combine the cornstarch and cold water then add the mixture to the simmering sauce. Allow the entire mixture to simmer for another minute before removing it from the heat.
Slice the pork loin into one-inch sections, top with the gravy, and serve with rice, potatoes, or vegetables on the side. Honey mustard pork tenderloin is a fantastic dish that will leave your dinner guests' mouths watering. Although it'll seem like you spent all day in the kitchen, it'll be your little secret that it really took no time at all.
