Transcript:Crockpot Chicken Cordon Bleu RecipeHi, my name is Krystyna Rittichier and I'm here for About.com. Today we're making Crockpot Chicken Cordon Bleu using a recipe from About.com's Southern Food site. This chicken cordon blue is slow cooked in a creamy sauce, and works great as a topping for cooked pasta.
For This Crockpot Chicken Cordon Bleu Recipe, You Will Need:
- 4 Chicken Breasts
- 4 Medium Thin Slices of Ham
- 4 Slices Swiss Cheese
- 1 Can Cream of Mushroom Soup
- ¼ Cup Milk
Pound to Thin the Chicken and Roll With the Ham and CheeseFirst you’ll need to pound out the chicken breasts to make them thin and tender. Place the first chicken breast in a plastic baggie. Pound the chicken until it is approximately ¼ inch thick. Top each piece of chicken with 1 slice of ham and 1 slice of cheese. Roll the chicken around the ham and cheese and secure each roll with a toothpick. Place the first three chicken rolls in the shape of a triangle in the bottom of the crock pot. Lay the rest of the chicken rolls on top of these in an even layer.
Top the Chicken Cordon Bleu With Mushroom Soup and Slow CookIn a medium bowl mix the soup mix with the milk. Stir until the mixture is even. Pour this over the chicken in the crockpot. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for four hours. The chicken is done when it is no longer pink. This chicken works great alone, or it can be served on top of pasta. Any kind of pasta will work for this recipe, from fettechini to shells. You can even use a specialty pasta like bow tie pasta, campanelle or even totalinni.
