Transcript:Crockpot Beef Bourguignon
Hi, I am Rachel Edelman for About.com Food. Today, I am going to show you how to make beef bourguignon in a crockpot.Beef Bourguignon Ingredients
For this recipe you will need:- 12 oz bacon
- 3 lbs. beef, cubed
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. red wine
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 2 ribs celery, sliced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 bay leaf
- salt and pepper
Fry Bacon Until Crisp
Spray a skillet with non-stick cooking spray. Lay out pieces of bacon and fry until crispy. Then move the cooked pieces to the lined crockpot.Flour and Brown Beef Cubes
Next, take a bunch of beef cubes and roll them in the flour. Place them in the bacon fat and brown cook so brown on most sides.Transfer meat from the skillet to the crockpot.
Sauté Vegetables and Mushrooms
Now pour in the onion, celery, carrots, mushrooms and garlic. Sauté them in the bacon grease and then add them to the crockpot too.Add Wine and Bay Leaf
Then, pour the wine all over the mixture. Add bay leaf and salt and pepper to taste. Gently stir the beef, vegetables, bacon and wine.Cook in Crockpot
