Hi, I’m Pamela French for About.com and today I’m going to show you how to make 5 easy sandwiches for school lunches.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

The easiest of all is the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich. All it takes to make is spreading the peanut butter and jelly of your choice on some yummy fresh bread. I like to put the peanut butter on the bread first, and then add the jelly, cut into four equal squares and viola, you have a sandwich ready to go into the lunchbox.

Egg Salad Sandwich

Another simple to make sandwich is egg salad. The night before you need to pack lunch, hard-boil a few eggs. I do it this way. I cover the eggs with about an inch or two of cold water I bring to a boil, and then once boiled, I pull the pot from the heat and let stands for twelve minutes. Once you have your hard boiled eggs, add a few tablespoons of mayonnaise, salt and pepper if desired to taste and then spread the egg salad on to some seedless rye bread, and you have a tasty healthy lunch for the little one.

Turkey and Cheese

Turkey and cheese is always a favorite sandwich, and probably the easiest to make. , Today I’m using roast turkey and Swiss cheese, I’m adding o add a little tomato and lettuce, a mild mustard, and to give it the New York deli feel, I use a soft Kaiser roll. Slice it in half and off it goes.

Bagel and Cream Cheese

For the picky eater who’s not much on meat or sensitive to peanuts, the bagel with a schemer of cream cheese is always an option. This might not be the healthiest of lunch options, but sure to get a smile when the lunchbox gets opened.

Hummus and Pepper Pita

Last but certainly not least, a favorite in our house is hummus and red peppers on a whole-wheat pita.  This is packed with protein, delicious to eat, and best of all easy to make.
