Hi, this is Angela with About.com, and today I am going to show you five easy food gift recipes for the holidays.

Chocolate Peppermint Sticks Are Festive Easy Holiday Food Gifts

The first recipe is for chocolate peppermint sticks. For this recipe you will need: 12 five inch peppermint sticks, 7 ounces of white chocolate, and 1/4 cup of nonpareils. Melt the white chocolate in a microwave for 15-30 seconds at a time until melted. Dip the ends of your peppermint sticks in the chocolate. Then sprinkle them with nonpareils. Let the sticks sit for fifteen minutes or until the chocolate hardens.

Fruit Jellies Are Fun Easy Holiday Food Gifts

The next recipe is fruit jellies. You will need: 5 (1/4 oz) packets of unflavored gelatin, 3/4 cup strained fresh orange juice, lemon juice, or raspberry puree, and 1/2 cup superfine sugar. Pour 1 cup of water into a bowl, and stir in gelatin. Let it stand for five minutes. Heat the juice and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Add this mixture to the gelatin and stir until it melts. Spray a small pan with nonstick oil and pour in the mix. Let it stand at room temperature until firm. Once the mixture is firm, cut 1-inch pieces with cookie cutters, and sprinkle with sugar.

Curried Lentil Soup Is a Sugar-Free Easy Holiday Food Gift

If you are looking for a sugar free gift, then this curried lentil soup is a great choice.To make, you will need 1/2 pound of red quinoa, 3 tbsp of minced dried onion, 1 tsp of salt, 3 tbsp curry powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 pound green lentils, 1/2 package dried apple rings, and 2 tbsp dried parsley leaves. In the bottom of a jar, pour the red quinoa, followed by dried onion, red curry and garlic powder then, add salt, green lentils, apple pieces, and parsley. You can place a canner on top of the jar to make pouring easier. Seal the jar and store at room temperature.

Prepare label with these cooking directions: "Cook in saucepan with 7 cups of water. Bring to a boil on high. Then reduce heat to low, for 20 to 30 minutes. Stir occasionally. Makes 8 cups."

Cake Pops Are a Cute Easy Holiday Food Gift

The next recipe is a bouquet of cake pops. To make this recipe you will need 2 boxes of cake batter, 1 pound of melted white chocolate, a baking pan for pops, lollipop sticks, 1 cup of sprinkles, and glitter icing. Spray the pan and pour in the cake mix. Bake on 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Dip the balls in the melted chocolate then roll in sprinkles. Decorate with glitter icing and add the pop stick last.

Floral Herbal Tea Is a Very Simple Holiday Food Gift

The last recipe is a floral herbal tea. To make this, you will need 8 ounces of floral tea, and a glass jar. Fill your jar with the tea. Hang a tea ball from the side and you are finished.
