Transcript:How to Sync Your Google Calendar with a Phone
Hi, I'm Andy Ramsey for About.com and if you have a Windows Mobile phone like I have here, an HTC model from Sprint, and also a Google Calendar that you update frequently then it is very easy to sync them together and you can use your phone as your calendar without having to re-enter all your events.
Locate the ActiveSync Application on Your Phone
To start you simply need to find the ActiveSync application on your Windows Mobile phone. In my case, it's right here on my home screen. It's this little button here- the green one with the arrows. Simply click that to open it. From the ActiveSync application's main page you simply click "Menu" and "Configure Server."
And the edit server settings page will come up. And here you will type the information. You type "m.google.com" and make sure to check the checkbox here that says that the server requires a secure connection otherwise Google will reject the connection.
Enter Your Google Information
From here you click "Next" and here you type in your full Google e-mail address that has the calendar you want to sync to as your username and then your full Google password as your password. Domain you can leave blank.
However, if your device requires you to enter something in the domain, simply type "Google" and that will solve that problem. You can also click to save your password if you'd like. Then click next.
Select Calendar to Sync
We are just going to focus on Calendar right now and make sure the calendar box is checked and then click "Finish." You will see the ActiveSync server is synchronizing. And now it is synced.
So now your Google Calendar is synced with your Windows Mobile phone, and it syncs both ways so when you add an event here on your phone it also syncs up in the cloud on your Google Calendar. Thanks for watching. To learn more visit us on the web at About.com
