Transcript:How to Nollie

Hey! This is Andy Bearer. I ride for and I am co-creator of RIPE Skateboarding and today we are going to talk about nollies. Remember, before you go out and try this one to always have the proper safety equipment with you.

Foot Positioning for a Skateboard Nollie

So we are talking about the nollie. We are going to start off with the foot positioning. Since you are going to be popping off the front of the board with this one, that is the main part of the nollie, it's just like an ollie except it's off the nose of your board rather than the tail.

Completing a Skateboard Nollie

You are going to want to put your front foot way up on the nose, wherever you feel comfortable in order to get that pop. Back foot is just about mid-board, basically just the opposite of an ollie.

So we are going to do the nollie. Popping off the front of the nose. I am going to level out the board with the side kicking type motion, swiping your back foot sideways along the grip tape backwards to level the board out. Try and suck your knees up towards your chest as much as possible, and that's going to allow you to get the trick higher off the ground.

Key to a Skateboard Nollie

That's a key to the nollie, pretty much, is just trying to get that side kicking motion, a quick sidekick backwards to level out, and also suck the knees up to try and bring it as high off the ground as possible. And that's how you do a nollie.
