Transcript:How to Do a Backside Boardslide
Hi, I'm Gregory Dwyer with azskateboarding.com at the kids that rip skateboard school in Mesa, Arizona, here with About.com. I'm going to show you the backside boardslide.Attempting a Backside Boardslide
To do a backside boardslide, it's going up to the rail, with your heels facing. When you pop the ollie, turn about 90 degrees, you want to land directly on the center of the rail. Right down the middle of your body. To slide this rail through put pressure on your heels to get it going. To compensate the heel balance on the board slide, bring your shoulders over your toes. This will allow you to ride out the trick, to the very end. Now what do you do? You have to make the decision whether to come out fakey, contine the turn, or come out regular – which is whast I recommend. And then end and roll away.Tips for a Backside Boardslide
When trying the board slide. Do the back side first. Then, give the front side a shot. You have to approach the rail with your toes facing. Ollie 90 degrees. Lock onto the rail, and block that hip and just ride it out. Your toe and heel pressure will be pretty even throughout the entire slide. When you come to the end, push on your toes a little bit and come out regular. Ride it out.Safety Suggestions for Doing a Backside Boardslide
I would suggest you wear safety gear until you have a few years of experience. Because a skateboard can, can slip out from under you at any time. So, helmet always, knee pads, second best, wrist guards. Thanks for watching. To learn more, visit us on the web at About.com.
