Transcript:How to Treat Cracked Heels

Hello, my name is Dr. Massuda from Foot & Ankle Clinics of America, and I'm here to talk to you about how to treat your cracked heels.

What Are Cracked Heels?

Cracked heels come from dry heels. They come from walking too much with open slippers or barefoot. You need to, if you have that problem, you need to treat it right away before it gets infected.

Use Epsom Salt to Treat Cracked Heels

What you need to do is get some Epsom salt, two tablespoons of Epsom salt and lukewarm water, mix it in a pan of lukewarm water. Mix it and then soak for about 10-15 minutes and then dry and then put any antifungal cream on your feet about twice a day until all the cracked heels are gone.

Wear Cotton Socks to Treat Cracked Heels

It'll be helpful to put a cotton sock at night on your heels to keep the moisture in it. Do not put any Vaseline, oil, cocoa butter, or shea butter on your heels because that will cause more cracked heels. I hope all the things that I said will help you take care of your feet.

Visit a Podiatrist to Treat Severe Cracked Heels

If you have any further problem and your problem does not go away with local home remedies, please call your local podiatrist and visit them as soon as you can.
