Transcript:How to Make a Great Casting Video
Hello, my name is Robert Galinsky and I am the president and founder of the Reality TV School. I'm here at NY Castings.com for About.com. For some shows, you need an audition tape. Not every show will let you walk into a room and audition, interview, and meet them live. So, that is a very important idea - making your tape.Adding Action to a Reality Casting Tape
Most tapes are terrible. And are just people talking and telling about the things they can do, how unique they are, how exciting they are. I want you to do it. Put it into action, give us action. When a casting director's watching that tape, he should see you or she should see you under a challenge. Put yourself in a competition, a contest. Go out into the public and interact with people, interact with strangers so that we can see your spontaneity, we can see your creativity. Create a challenge for yourself to deal with when you're out there. Let's go do one.Lively Casting Video Samples
Praneet: Hey, hey, hey, what's up? Can I see what's in your bag? Do you want to compare what's in bags? I've got, I've got, Fresh Scoop.Guy: I got Elmer's Glue, like everybody has in their bags. So, show me something else.
P: I got a CD to cassette thing.

C: Hi, My name is Cody. I am auditioning for a reality TV show, can you show me your socks, I'll show you my socks. Check it out – purple. What do you got? Awesome, what's the star about? Do you know?
Guy: Uh, that must be for you
C: Off to get more socks. Hey, excuse me you two, I'm auditioning for a reality TV show, and I would really like to get you guys to show me your socks. Oh, I love that, I love that.

P: I was wondering if you want to compare things that are in your bag and in my bag?
Woman: That seems a little strange to me.
P: I can show you what's in my bag. First off, I've got some Fresh Step. You go shopping.
Woman: Yeah, I went to B & H.
P: Ah, ok, so you've got a mouse and I've got a cat thing. That's the perfect combination.
Woman: Anyway, good luck.
P: Thank you very much, miss, take care.
P: I have Kitty Litter in mine. I was wondering what you were carrying in a little knap sack like that.
Woman: My insulin, my insulin pen.
P: That's exciting.
Woman: My meter to test my insulin.
P: IN a Prada bag
Woman: What can I tell you?
P: Thank you very much, miss.
P: Yeah, there aren't that many bag people left. There's a bag guy, bag guy. Hey buddy how ya doing. I'm making a casting tape for a reality TV Show. My bag has something cool.
Make that tape lively, alive, and make it something that when they look at it, they say, this person's brave. This person's unique creative and powerful and interacts. You're going to show that you are willing to raise the stakes. The stakes have got to be high for us to see the true you.
