Transcript:How to Drive to LaGuardia from Long Island

Hi, my name is David Park and today we are going to talk about how to drive from Long Island to LaGuardia Airport.

LaGuardia Airport Via the Long Island Expressway

First, let's take a look at the map. LaGuardia Airport is located just east of Manhattan in Queens and close to a number of major highways. There are many ways to get to LaGuardia from Long Island but today we will talk about how to get to the airport on Long Island Expressway, also known as I-495W.

As you can see in the map, I-495W runs right in the middle of the island all the way to Manhattan. You will stay on I-495W for the most of the trip until you reach Grand Central Parkway which will eventually take you to the airport.

The first thing you want to do is to locate the closest entry to I-495W from the part of Long Island you are departing from. Make sure you are driving west and not east.

Use the Grand Central Parkway Exit

You will stay on I-495W until you reach Grand Central Parkway. According to the map, the exit number you are looking for is 22A.

Upon taking the exit, make sure to stay on the right side of the road where you will take the Grand Central Parkway West.

Follow Signs for LaGuardia Airport

Stay on Grand Central Parkway until you see a series of exits for LaGuardia Airport. Find the exit with the terminal you are looking for and follow the signs accordingly.
