Hey, this is Karen Anton here with About.com. Getting to an airport to travel or even to pick up a friend or relative could be a great or daunting experience.

Getting to LaGuardia airport in Queens, NY is a pretty easy task. For those of you coming from the Bronx, Connecticut or upstate New York here are all the steps you need to direct yourself to LaGuardia Airport.

Take I-678 to Drive to La Guardia from the North

Step 1: Get to I-678 South. Now whether your coming from the Bronx, Connecticut, or upstate New York, you're going to cross the Whitestone Bridge, and to get to the Bridge you need to be on I-678 South.

Now getting to I-678 South will differ depending on where you're coming from. Coming from upstate New York is pretty easy since you're essentially taking one road with three different names. Take the I-684 South toward White Plains and New York City. I-684 South turns into Hutchinson River Parkway South and you continue on that because Hutchinson River Parkway South eventually turns into I-678 South.

Coming from Connecticut, take I-95 South until you've entered New York. We're going to take Exit 14 for Hutchinson River Parkway South and again we continue on that until we get to I-678 South.

Coming from the Bronx, we are going to take I-95 North and take exit 6A to merge onto I-678 South.

Take Grand Central Parkway West to Drive to La Guardia from the North

Now that we are on the I-678 south, now what? Before we continue on, we must pay a toll. After the toll is paid we can cross the Whitestone Bridge. Once we get off the bridge, we take Exit 13C to get onto Grand Central Parkway West.

Once we are on Grand Central Parkway West, we follow the easy-to-navigate signs. While on Grand Central Parkway West we take the exit for LaGuardia Airport. We make a slight right; a slight left and you're here. Now that wasn't so hard now was it?
