JFK Driving Directions From Long Island
Traveling from Long Island to John F. Kennedy Airport is an easy, toll-free route. Begin by taking 495, also known as the Long Island Expressway, and head west towards New York. 495 has a maximum speed limit of 55 mph once you reach exit 48-Round Swamp Road. 495 also has HOV lanes, but make sure you have exited the HOV lane prior to exit 31S, which will lead you to JFK airport via the Cross Island Parkway South. The Cross Island has a speed Limit of 50 mph. In approximately 5 miles, bear right for the Belt Parkway. There is no exit number, so be sure to keep an eye out for the signs. Exit 20 from the Belt Parkway takes you to the JFK Expressway and the airport is 2.5 miles from there. Long term parking is located off site and you can ride the Air Train from the lot to the terminal, but you should allow a minimum of 30 extra minutes of travel time. If you are dropping off or picking up, be sure to check the number and color coded signs to locate your airlines terminal. Enjoy your flight.
