Hi, I'm Kostas Georgokitsos for About.com. Today I'll show you how to use YouTube videos in PowerPoint 2010 presentations.

Grab Embed Codes for YouTube Videos for PowerPoint 2010 Presentations

It's very easy to embed a YouTube video in your slideshow. Open the slide that you want to add the video to. Go to the video on YouTube. Click on Share below the video. In the pane that opens up, click the Embed button. A box with an html code appears.

Scroll down and check the box next to "Use old embed code". Make sure the selected size is 560x315. Now click inside the box with the embed code. The entire text will automatically be selected. Right-click on it and choose copy.

Insert YouTube Videos Into PowerPoint 2010 Presentations

Go back to PowerPoint. Click Insert and hit the down arrow under the Video button. Select Video from Web Site. A text box will open up. Right-click on the white area and select Paste. Click Insert. A video object will appear on the slide. Resize it as you like.

To play the video, double-click on it and hit the Play button. Note, that you must have a working internet connection for this to work.

Additional Tips for Using YouTube Videos in PowerPoint 2010 Presentations

However, if you want to broadcast your SlideShow live on the internet, the video will play on Your browser, but not on the browsers of the remote viewers, even if they do have an internet connection. The same goes if you want to export your presentation as a video file. The embedded YouTube video will not play.
