Hi, this is Brian Green from F & G Weddings for About.com and today we're talking about tips for throwing the perfect outdoor pool party.
Hire a Lifeguard for Your Pool Party
Great pool party tips: if you're having a pool party, please make sure that you hire a lifeguard, especially if you've got people of all ages. It sounds like it's a crazy thing to do but it's the best thing because it is your party, you are responsible for your guests' safety.
Prepare for the Weather
One of the tips for making sure that you throw a fabulous outdoor party is to make sure that you've checked on the weather, as we're talking about summer parties and summer fun. Of course its going to be hot, so we want to make sure that we've prepared for that.
If it's an outdoor party or an outdoor pool party, we want to make sure that there is an indoor space that people can come in, that the air conditioner is on, that they can take breaks from the sun to make sure that they're feeling fine. And lots and lots of refreshing liquids, so juices and sodas because alcohol will dehydrate and all the others will hydrate. We want to make sure that we stay hydrated.
Moving Your Pool Party Into the Evening
Another tip for your outdoor party is if you've got a pool and it's becoming evening time, everyone's coming out of the pool, we're taking all the pool toys out. We want to add some fabulous floating candles. You can even add a fabulous floating floral centerpiece to the pool. Now, you want to make sure that it is anchored to the ground, so you just want to add a weight to it. If not, it will automatically float to your filter. If you want it to stay in the center, make sure it's weighted down and it'll stay right there. And you've turned your daytime fun to evening time elegance.
This is Brian Green with a quick tip for About.com. See you outside.
