Hi, this is Brian Green from F & G Weddings for About.com, your life stylist, and today we're talking about tips for keeping food fresh at your outdoor party.
Keep Hot Food Hot and Cold Food Cold
Keeping food fresh at an outdoor party is one of the most important things you can do to make sure that your party is a success. The first thing we want to do is make sure that cold food remains cold; that means that it's under 40 degrees Celsius, and that hot food stays hot. If not, bacteria can set in, and of course you don't want your guests to get ill.
Separate Drinks and Raw Meat
We want to make sure that if you're outside and you're entertaining, that the food is not outside for more than two hours. If it's 90 degrees or more outside, food should really only stay outside for an hour and then come back in. And lastly, as a really important tip we really want to make sure we're keeping beverages separate from raw meat, because that again will allow bacteria to seep in.
Those quick simple tips will make sure that your food stays fresh and that you have the best summer parties ever. This is Brian Green for About.com. I'll see you next time.
