Hi, I'm Amy and we're at The Pet Stop in Shawnee, Kansas. Today I'm going to tell you why a vampire might be the perfect costume choice for your cat, on About.com.
Where to Find Supplies for Cat Costumes
If you are looking for the perfect Halloween costume, or just a spooky look for your cat you will find endless ideas and inspirations in your pet or fabric stores. For a classic Halloween look then you may consider a Vampire costume. There are many stores and websites that carry such a costume. You can even use a small costume made for dogs in a pinch, just be sure to check the measurements. This costume could also be made with a pattern from your local fabric store.
Tips for Dressing Up Your Cat as a Vampire
It is important to note that many cats do not want to be dressed up, and if this is the case it may be better to purchase a festive collar or bandana instead. The advantage of the Vampire costume is that it does not require many parts
The cape makes or breaks this costume. It should be simple construction and out of the way of a cats movements. It should not be tight on a cats neck to constrict breathing. Black is the classic color for such a cape and a high collar earns it bonus points. This classic kitty costume is sure to impress all of your Halloween guests.
Good luck dressing up your feline, and for more information on pet costumes check us out on the web at About.com.
