Transcript:Add Video to Your MySpace Page

Hi, I am Don Schechter for About.com Computing. Today I'm going to show you how to add a video to your MySpace page. Adding videos to your MySpace profile is not that hard, and is a cool way you can add to your profile.

Log into MySpace Video

Open up your web browser and go to myspace.com. Sign in and in your homepage click Add/change videos in the main editing box. You will now be in a videos home page. I have one video under my videos tab.

Search for Videos on MySpace

To look for a video on myspace, select video charts and browse some of the options. I'll select 'gangsta happy feet remix' to view it. You can view the file by pressing play or fast forwarding on the left. To add this video, click on 'add to profile' below the viewer, or scroll down and copy the video code.

Paste the Video Code in Your Profile

If you cannot directly add the video to your page, go back to your profile by clicking 'home.' Click 'edit profile' in your editing box and then paste the link in one of the boxes. Click 'save changes' when you're done.

Preview the Video on Your MySpace Page

To view your changes, select profile underneath your profile picture.

Upload Your Own MySpace Video

Now I will show you how to upload your own video. Go to 'add/change' videos, and then in the right hand corner, select 'Upload videos.' On the next screen you have to enter some information about your video so that it can appear in your profile.

Ill type in the title of the movie and give it a description.

Add Tags to Your MySpace Video

In the tags bar, type in a few words that will allow other members to search for your movie. When you are done selecting options, click 'continue.'

Upload the Video File to MySpace

Now click browse to find your video file. MySpace will tell you if your video format is acceptable. I'll go to my desktop and then select 'Don's Movie.' Click upload and the movie will appear in the videos homepage.

To add the movie to your profile, go to the left of the movie and click add to profile.

Now anyone can go to your main page, click on your videos, and watch your movies. Thanks for watching. For more information, please visit us online at computing.about.com.
