Transcript:How to Organize Kitchen Cabinets
Hi, I'm Nia Reddy, an organization expert for The Container Store, here for About.com. Today we're going to talk about kitchen and pantry organization.
Preparing to Organize Kitchen Cabinets
One thing about our kitchen cabinets that create quite a fuss is the fact that we just have so many things everywhere. So, the first thing that you're going to want to think about is dividing the space. Using an organizer like this one allows you to double your space. You can put plates on the bottom, bowls on the top. You get twice the space within one small area.
Grouping Items Together to Help Organize Kitchen Cabinets
So, the second thing you're going to want to think about is keeping like items together. Storing small items like sauce packets in a designated basket allows you to grab things in a snap. When it's time to cook, you've got everything ready, right at your fingertips.
Tips for Organizing Kitchen Cabinets
One of our customers greatest concerns is spice storage. Using a spice carousel like this one allows you to keep all of your spices in one place. One thing to think about is spice that aren't in use you're going to want to store in a cool dry space. Preferable away from a stove or a microwave.
Canned and dry goods can cause a lot of problems in your cabinets, especially if they're stacked on top of each other, toppling over and you just can't find what you need. Choosing an organizer like our bamboo expandable shelf allows you to keep items all in one place. The great thing about this product is it allows you to tier your items. That way you don't have to run to the grocery store for an item you already have.
Nobody likes to be down on their knees searching in a cabinet for pots and pans and lids that have gone astray. An organizer like this one allows you to store your items in one place. You can glide in and out easily to bring those items that are in the back of your cabinet to the front.
