Transcript:Quick Tip: Assemble Moving Boxes
Hi, I'm Jesse Meadows for About.com, and today I'm going to show you how to assemble moving boxes.
You'll need cardboard boxes, packing tape and scissors. You can buy boxes from shipping companies or online. But if you're on a budget, check your local grocery store. They throw out plenty of boxes everyday and are often happy to give them away.
Putting the Box Together
First, take your flattened cardboard box and pop it open to form its shape. Then find the bottom of the box and close the shorter flaps first. Then close the larger flaps over them. Use extra tape on the bottom to make sure heavy items don't break through.
Now you're ready to pack your box. When you've filled the box, close the shorter flaps on top, then the longer flaps and tape it shut. Make sure to label your box with a marker so you know what's inside.
