Zach Galifianakis - 'Ethan' in Due Date

What was it like working with Robert Downey Jr and how was the relationship off-screen?

Zach Galifianakis: "Well, off screen Robert and I have very intellectual conversations or least half of us do - Robert saying that he is the one who has the intellectual parts. And then on screen, you know it's just goofy randomness for two strangers to meet that don't... Robert's character's very, very - he has a lot of anger. And when you meet someone like Ethan who is incredibly annoying but it's just funny. But off stage... Is it called stage or screen? Screen. Off screen Robert and I, there were a lot of insults back and forth but I love to be insulted and so does Robert so we got along very well."

Matt Walsh - 'TSA Agent' in Due Date

Why do you keep teaming up with Todd Phillips?

Matt Walsh: "I'm cheap. I'm so cheap. I have photos of Todd in incriminating situations."

So does that mean you can pick your character?

Matt Walsh: "No, I can't. I don't have that much juice. No, Todd, I auditioned for Todd maybe 10 years ago for a movie called Road Trip and he sort of fell in love with me. He's just one of those guys who gets me and enjoys my work. We work very well together. He's very improv-friendly and I think that's one of my strengths. It's my training. So he likes to take people in who are funny. Obviously, like Zach's a comedian first and an actor second. Zach's a great improviser I think he likes people like that."

He seems to like to work with the same people over again so is there a level of comfort on the set?

Matt Walsh: "Does he? Does he like to work with the same people? There's not that many..."

Well The Hangover gang's the same and Juliette Lewis has worked with him a few times before.

Matt Walsh: "That's true. That's a good point. She's been around for a lot of films. I worked with her on Starsky and Hutch. It is fun. He keeps a very loose set and it's very improv-friendly. He has a good eye for funny, nice people. He likes to put people in his films who are pretty easy to work with."

So how does your character tie into the story in this one?

Matt Walsh: "I play the authority figure. I work for the TSA and I force Robert to get in a car by putting him on the no-fly list, restricting him from using airplanes."

So you're the bad guy?

Matt Walsh: "I'm the bad guy in the beginning, yeah. I'm like a plot device that forces him to hook up with Zach."

And you've also got Outsourced which I watch.

Matt Walsh: "Well thank you for watching. Yes, I play Jerry the boss in Kansas City so that's going well."

Are we ever going to see you travel there?

Matt Walsh: "There are rumors of the boss character going to India, yes. Yes, there are rumors."

Animal Trainer Tracy Kelly and Sunny

I'm going to steal the dog. She's adorable. How easy was she to train?

Tracy Kelly: "She was really easy to train. She didn't have to do much except be loved and held in the arms and ride in the car. We just had to teach her to wear the hat and accept that. And she did - she's very laid back."

Most dogs don't like those cones.

Tracy Kelly: "Right, but if you associate the cone with good things like chicken, they tend to like it after a while."

Now there were two dogs who worked in the film, but she did the majority of the movie, right?

Tracy Kelly: "Right. That's right. We needed a smaller dog to be carried around all the time so we did a pretty much nationwide search and found her. She's only 15 pounds so a lot easier versus 26 pounds like the male was."

You use a lot of rescue dogs at the training center. Are they usually good to work with? Do you find that most rescue dogs are pretty adaptable to what you're doing?

Tracy Kelly: "Yeah, I do. The best movie dogs are failed pets because they're really high-energy is what we're looking for. And you can focus that energy into teaching them and doing all the things that sometimes movie dogs do, like digging and barking and jumping on people. We do find a lot of purebreds in shelters as well. If you look every day, purebreds do come in."
