Topher Grace – 'Jason' in Valentine's Day
So tell me why your character is the best character to play in Valentine's Day.Topher Grace: "Well you know, Annie [Hathaway] and I made a firm commitment at the very beginning that we wanted to win. We wanted to be the best couple. We see acting as being competitive."
That's why there are all these awards.
Topher Grace: "Exactly. And I hope there's an award for best couple in this movie. I don't want to spoil it, but these other actors just don't hold up."
I mean seriously this has everybody in the world in the cast.
Topher Grace: "Right. I think everyone, besides Julia Roberts, here is like really star-struck."
What was it like being on a Garry Marshall set?
Topher Grace: "The most fun you'll ever have. I mean the most fun I've had on a film set ever. He runs a really light, fun set."
Eric Dane – 'Sean' in Valentine's Day
Tell me why your character is the absolute best character to play in Valentine's Day.Eric Dane: "I'm the only one who didn't have to deal with any kind of weird Valentine's Day relationship."
So that makes it the best? Is dealing with a weird relationship a bad thing?
Eric Dane: "I don't know. I really didn't have to do anything but say the lines. I didn't have to worry about being in love or out of love."
And was it Garry Marshall – was that the appeal of it?
Eric Dane: "Yeah. I mean, when Garry Marshall asks you to show up."
Are you a romantic comedy type of guy?
Eric Dane: "I never saw myself as one but I always find myself doing romantic comedies. I don't get it."
So you wouldn't normally buy a ticket to something like this.
Eric Dane: "I would buy a ticket to see a Garry Marshall romantic comedy. I'm not typically a romantic comedy kind of guy."
What's Garry Marshall like on the set?
Eric Dane: "He's very easy. He's much funnier than I am so anytime he makes a suggestion, you just take it. He knows what he wants. It's fun. It's light – it's fun. If you're having fun, you're doing well on a Garry Marshall movie."
Bryce Robinson – 'Edison' in Valentine's Day
Bryce Robinson: "My character is named Edison. And basically I have a crush on my teacher."In real life have you ever had a crush on your teacher?
Bryce Robinson: "No."
Have you ever had a crush on anyone yet?
Bryce Robinson: "Yes."
Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? Do you give out flowers and candy?
Bryce Robinson: "I think I'm going to this year. I haven't really in the past because I've been in school. I've been home schooled."
Tell me about working with Garry Marshall.
Bryce Robinson: "It was really fun. He made everything really fun, but he made it so it lasted but he also got things done in a really good way. I'm expecting a lot of this movie."
Did you learn a lot from him?
Bryce Robinson: "Yes."
What do you think is the biggest thing you learned from Garry Marshall?
Bryce Robinson: "I learned that having fun doesn't always make things not turn out as well. It actually can make things turn out better."
