Miss California Tami Farrell
Congratulations on your title.
Tami Farrell: "Thank you very much."
What's it feel like being Miss California now?
Tami Farrell: "You know it's been crazy but when you get experiences like this, which are amazing, but definitely like a switch from a couple of weeks ago."
How do you adjust to that? You have to adjust your personal life, all of your own plans that you had. How do you do that?
Tami Farrell: "Well I think that... My dad always says that success is when opportunity meets preparation. And I've been working hard. I've been wanting to break into this industry for a long time. But I've worked at two, three jobs just to try to get my chance and so this is my opportunity to kind of show the world what I have."
What is your charity? What do you support?
Tami Farrell: "My favorite charity that I'm absolutely passionate about is called Sparrow Clubs. You can go online at www.sparrowclubs.org. And what it is it helps kids with medical needs. And their whole quote is, 'Kids will do heroic things when they're given heroic things to do.' So it's really about empowering children."
Have you worked with them for a while?
Tami Farrell: "I've actually been working with them since I was in high school. I grew up with medical issues so I think when you go through something like that, it's a great platform to be able to go in and work with kids who are going through the same things."
Are you going to stick around and see the movie?
Tami Farrell: "Oh definitely. I'm so excited."
Were you a fan of Borat?
Tami Farrell: "Oh a huge fan. And Sacha Baron Cohen I think is hilarious. He's a genius so I'm excited."
