Justine Wachsberger - 'Katie' in Sorority Row
Justine Wachsberger: "It was really fun. I play Katie, a sorority sister but who's not with the popular girls. She doesn't really fit in."
Why doesn't she fit in?
Justine Wachsberger: "Because she's kind of nerdy. Not really a nerd, but almost. And she's just really always really sarcastic and funny. She always tries to get people's attention because she's kind of an outsider."
Is this you at all?
Justine Wachsberger: "I mean, it is a part of me because I grew up in Paris and France, so moving here I kind of was an outsider trying to adapt to the American lifestyle, and the Californian lifestyle more precisely. So I feel like in that way I do feel feel empathy for that character and do assimilate to her."
Now how was it to be on a set with all these wonderful women?
Justine Wachsberger: "Amazing. I love all of them."
Is it fun to be on a set that's female dominated, because it's usually guys?
Justine Wachsberger: "Yeah. No, it was so much fun. I mean, there were some guys. There's like, four."
And you're in New Moon too?
Justine Wachsberger: "Yeah."
And how was that? Spill all the beans.
Justine Wachsberger: "Well that was really cool. Obviously being cast in such a big movie was obviously amazing for my career as a big boost. It was a lot of fun working with the whole cast and crew. And Chris [Weitz] that's a great director. He's so amazing."
Were you a Twilight fan?
Justine Wachsberger: "I don't know what you mean by fan because there's like those hardcore fans...I wasn't one of those, but I definitely loved the movie. And when I found out that I was auditioning for it, I definitely read all the books. So now, obviously, I'm totally immersed in the Twilight world."
Tell everyone who you play.
Justine Wachsberger: "I play Gianna, so I work for the Volturi. I'm the Volturi's receptionist."
The wannabe vampire.
Justine Wachsberger: "Exactly. I'm an attractive human who works for them in hopes of becoming one of them. So there's kind of this duality within my character because I want to be one of them, so I want to be eternal and everything, but at the same time I'm human. So there's kind of that ambiguous line on why she wants to be that person. You don't really understand why she wants to be one of them."
Any chance they're going to bring you back? It's not in the books.
Justine Wachsberger: "There is a chance. There's always hope they'll bring me back in Breaking Dawn but for now I don't know. Nothing was said so probably not."
Do you like vampires?
Justine Wachsberger: "Oh, yes. I'm dying to be on True Blood. That's my next move, hopefully."
