Seth Rogen – 'Ronnie Barnhardt' in Observe and Report
How was it to play a guy with anger issues because this is obviously not you?Seth Rogen: "At times… Yeah, no, I'm okay generally speaking. No, it was fun. I thought it was funny. Good times."
He's a little darker than you normally play.
Seth Rogen: "I guess so but during the filming it didn't… It wasn't like a dark and moody set or anything like that. It really didn't feel much different during the making of it than anything else. The end result, yeah, when I watch it I'm like, 'Wow, this is nuts.' But it didn't feel that way while we were doing it necessarily."
What does Jody Hill bring as a director and a filmmaker?
Seth Rogen: "Oh man, so much. He's just so funny and original, and has such a strong comedic perspective. It's just so much fun to work with someone like that."
And he wrote this role for you.
Seth Rogen: "Which is so nice. Kevin Smith wrote… Yeah, it's happened a bunch of times, and I've written roles. Pretty much every movie I've been in."
Well then you can't say no when they write it for you.
Seth Rogen: "No, you really can't at all."
What can we expect from this one?
Seth Rogen: "It's just nuts. It's completely original and crazy and funny. By far the most insane movie I've been in, I would say."
And obviously you're in Green Hornet shape.
Seth Rogen: "Green Horny shape you mean. I've been waiting all day for that one."
You're ready for that? Script's all done?
Seth Rogen: "No, not at all. I was just getting yelled at by Neal Moritz in the car ride here."
Is it close?
Seth Rogen: "Yeah, we're close."
You have the tone down at least, right?
Seth Rogen: "Yeah, definitely, definitely."
An action comedy?
Seth Rogen: "Indescribable."
